Ian awarded MBE - for 30 years of service

Last week, Ian Bothwell, director for Crossfire Trust was awarded an MBE at Buckingham Palace, in acknowledgement of his 30 years of service to the people of south Armagh.

Ian was joined by his wife Pauline and their two children, Justin and Megan.

Ian said, “It is an honour and feels good to be acknowledged and the people of Crossmaglen are chuffed that their ‘servant’ and their town are being recognised. I have called it ‘Many Blessings for Everyone’ and in particular I want a lifeline established as a result of it for young men’s mental health issues and Crossmaglen town. It is making Isaiah 61 real and tangible and we are having amazing opportunities to help people but are stretched balancing resources to meet the fresh need caused by the credit crunch and post conflict.”
